Ayurveda introduction

Ayurveda, the traditional Indian medicinal system remains the most ancient living traditions .The name Ayurveda implies, Ayuh-Life+ Veda-Knowledge. It is a science of life with a holistic approach to health and personalized medicine. It is known to be a complete medical system that comprised physical, psychological, philosophical, ethical, and spiritual health. In Ayurveda, each cell is considered to be inherently an essential expression of pure intelligence hence called self-healing science. In addition, to the self-healing concept, the use of herbal treatment is equally important in this Indian traditional system of medicine. Ayurveda has unique self designed axiomatic framework as its foundation, which remarkably holds out a truly global vision. Ayurveda explains us thoroughly how our human body and nature compensate each other.

Universal attribution

There is a huge correlation between universal elements and human body.

Whole Universe is made up of 5 elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. These elements maintain balance. Nature struggles constantly to maintain balance. This is the Law of Nature.

Human body is also made of 5 elements: Earth element (Bones and Muscles), Water element (Blood), Air element (Breath), Fire element (Heat), and Space element (Emptiness within). If any one element is taken out, the body  would collapse. There are various energies in the body like, Bio-energy, magnetic energy, electrical energy, mechanical energy, chemical energy. These energies run the body. These are called VITAL FORCE . Any imbalance in the five elements brings imbalance in the vital force. Just want to mention few problems with imbalance of Elements.

1. Imbalance of Water element: Cold, sinusitis, asthma, swellings, blood thinning or blood clotting, problem of urination, diseases of reproductive organs.

2. Imbalance of Earth element: Weakness, obesity, cholesterol, weight loss and weight gain, bones or muscular diseases etc.

3. Imbalance of Fire element: Coldness or fever, skin diseases, increased coldness or heat in body, loss of vital energy, acidity, diabetes, and mental disorders.

4. Imbalance of Air element: Nervous disorders, blood pressure problems, lung disorders, physical pains/deformities, depression, locomotors ataxia etc.

5. Imbalance of Space element: Thyroid disorders, throat problems, speech disorders, epilepsy, anxiety, ear diseases, etc.

Ayurveda dosha constitution

In Ayurvedic medicine, the personal constitution of the person is the starting point for all treatments. This constitution (Sanskrit: prakruti) expresses itself as an individual manifestation of the three doshas (bioenergies or life forces): vata, pitta, and kapha. Since birth, every person has had this unchanging constitution, also called the Ayurveda type.
